Spero

SPERO is a contemporary dance solo inspired by the drawings by the American visual artist Nancy Spero, particularly those made for the Festspielhaus Hellerau Dresden in 1998. They reflect on the female body and its role in modern societies, taking into account its eroticism, suffering, and social oppression. SPERO is an athletic but intimate solo conceived as a metaphor for the confrontation of a female character with the history of violence and repression that women had to undergo during the XX century.
